Individual Accounts and Organization Accounts

What can Organization Account Directors do?
A “Director” role is assigned to the person who first creates the Organization account on NatureJournal.eco. The Director has all of same abilities and permission as does a person with the role of “Organization Admin” with the addition of being able to assign roles. Thus, the only way to change a role of someone following an Organization is to be the Organization Director (or a Kinecology employee). Directors can only change the role for users who follow, subscribe to or support their organization.
Thus, Account Directors can:
- Edit user roles such as follower, supporter/subscriber, and most importantly, creating new Organization Admins.
- Cancel their organization’s account.
- Anything that an Account Admin can do (see below).
What can Organization Account Admins do?
Account Admins can:
- Edit Organization Profile page(s) such as About Us, and Places.
- Create Events with Signup Sheets and Photo Albums and moderate these by approving or rejecting signups or posts.
- Access and export all data in an account: that means they have the ability to read every email sent within the organization account.
- Manage all aspects of the account’s subscription: including updating some billing information, changing the role of users.
Can Kinecology help us change the Account Director?
Yes, we can reassign an Account Director if provided with enough proof that the request is coming from a top-level organizational leader. To start a request to change the Account Director, an owner or chief executive of the organization must email our support team.
From there, we’ll ask for more verification of identity and relationship to the organization as well as ensure that there are no pending disputes of ownership. This process will likely take several days, as we need to make absolutely sure the request is legitimate.
If we’re unable to verify the legitimacy of the request, or if it’s being disputed by the current Account Director, we may require a properly served court order for Kinecology LLC to proceed.
Who owns a NatureJournal.eco individual account?
NatureJournal.eco individual accounts (not organzation accounts) are owned by individuals, not by organizations. When you sign up you are the owner of that account and all the data in it. Our legal responsibility is to the account owner(s), so we won’t let other people take over your account without your permission.
What if I have another question about ownership?
Kinecology may update this policy once in a blue moon — we’ll notify you about significant changes by emailing the account owner or by placing a prominent notice on our site. You can access, change or delete your personal information at any time by contacting us.
